Summary of the contracting process

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is currently in the tender stage for procuring a Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU) cloud-based Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system. This procurement falls under the services category, specifically IT services like consulting, software development, Internet, and support. Located in the UKM82 region, the Health Board aims to deliver a robust EPR system to advance neonatal care technology. The procurement method used is an open procedure, and interested suppliers should submit their responses electronically by 15 December 2023. The tender also includes critical award criteria focusing on both quality (60%) and price (40%).

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in IT services, particularly those experienced with developing and maintaining cloud-based healthcare systems. Companies that can demonstrate financial stability, hold appropriate levels of professional, public, and employer's liability insurance, and have a reliable track record will be well-suited to compete. Additionally, this project provides a long-term engagement of 1800 days with potential renewal options, offering substantial growth potential for firms that can meet the NHS’s stringent requirements and adapt technological solutions to the evolving needs of neonatal care.
