Notice Description
The equipment and specialist services being bought are the manufacture, install and testing/commissioning of the Life Support Systems for the Antarctic animals once they return to the Polar Aquarium facility at Cambridge. These are specialist and bespoke Aquarium pumps and filtration and purposed designed. They contain the plant and equipment to keep Antarctic animals alive in a very specific temperature controlled and stable environment.

The award of the contract without prior publication in the Official Journal of the European Union is lawful and compliant to Reg 32 due to them being the only supplier who is able to deliver the bespoke and specialist requirements to UKRI. While having the required level of knowledge and expertise in this field of work.
