Summary of the contracting process

The Kent County Council is planning a tender for organic (green) waste reprocessing services. The procurement process aims to engage with suppliers to assess market capacity for future services. The current contracts are set to end in phases by 2028, split into geographical regions. Kent County Council intends to re-procure these services as a single contract with multiple lots. Potential suppliers will be invited to complete a Market Engagement Questionnaire, available on the Kent Business Portal. The future notice date for the tender is set for March 1, 2024.

This tender by Kent County Council presents an opportunity for businesses involved in refuse and waste related services. Companies capable of providing organic waste treatment services meeting specific standards are well-suited to compete. The contracting process can lead to business growth for providers handling organic waste processing and storage. The Market Engagement Questionnaire will inform the council's strategy for commissioning these services, offering a chance for interested organisations to contribute insights and potentially secure future contract opportunities.
