Lot Information
Climate Services for a Net Zero World (CS-N0W)
Climate services for a Net Zero resilient world (CS-N0W) is a PS5 million research programme that will use the latest scientific knowledge to inform UK climate policy and help us meet our global decarbonisation ambitions. CS-N0W aims to enhance the scientific understanding of climate impacts, decarbonisation, climate action and improve accessibility to the UK's climate data. It will contribute to evidence-based climate policy both in the UK and internationally, and strengthen the climate resilience of UK infrastructure, housing and communities. The programme will run for 4 years, from 2021 to 2025. The programme is structured around 4 research and analysis themes, as well as a fifth cross-cutting knowledge synthesis and translation theme.

"description": "This variation is a scope and price change to the ad-hoc budget, which addresses urgent policy-relevant evidence gaps that were not foreseen at the start of the programme. This variation to the CS-N0W programme will deliver necessary work to deliver on these policy demands. The additional work that will be delivered through this variation is: mapping future climate risks to buildings, heat vulnerability assessments and adaptations of urban buildings and a review of the Net Zero Innovaton Programme portfolio.",
"rationale": "Need for additional works, services or supplies by the original contractor/concessionaire: The variation has become necessary due to changing climate landscape and scientific policy demands. This was not foreseen at the start of the project. This contract is delivering the scope of which this additional research is necessary and has unique expertise in delivering such research through the programme. Therefore would cause significant inconvenience and cost to procure separately."
