Summary of the contracting process

The Environment Agency (Defra Network eTendering Portal) is planning a tender for the supply of compressed and liquefied gases to air quality monitoring sites across the UK. The procurement process is at the planning stage, with a total estimated value of £970,261. The contract period is set for an initial term of four years from September 1, 2024, with a possibility to extend up to a total of six years, including options for extension. The tender seeks to ensure the supply of various gases to meet air quality monitoring requirements at multiple locations, including non-standard deliveries and digital tracking and invoicing systems.

This tender presents an opportunity for businesses involved in the supply of compressed and liquefied gases, particularly those capable of meeting the specific requirements outlined, such as providing zero and span gases with accreditation, along with delivery networks covering the entire UK, including Northern Ireland. Companies with experience in managing gas supply contracts on a large scale and possessing ISO17025 accreditation are well-suited to compete. The procurement process aims to support the functionality of the Automatic Urban and Rural Network air quality monitoring sites, offering a potentially long-term engagement with the Environment Agency for interested suppliers.
