Notice Description

Lichfield District Council (LDC) is currently considering options for the provision of Transport Assistance and is seeking to engage with the market for future service planning. It is anticipated that the "Lichfield On-Demand Bus Service" project will utilise UK Shared Prosperity Funding to provide a pilot scheme to connect residents in rural towns and villages across the locality with urban centres in Burntwood and Lichfield through an on demand bus service. Marketing of the service will be supported by Lichfield District Council alongside the delivery partner.

In order to ensure the Lichfield District Council specification requirements includes current market innovation and ideas, we would welcome an opportunity to meet with Suppliers to explore commercial progress in this area. LDC are particularly interested in understanding the following areas: * Smart phone applications and internet for the majority of bookings * Alternative booking options for less digital literate service users (potentially via phone) * Branded minibuses working across the district serving rural settlements including Whittington, Elford, Edingale, Comberford, Longdon Green, Hamstall Ridware and others * Potential staffing of bus routes to include trips to work in the morning, return to work in early evening and to serve the night time economy where possible * Approximate start up and ongoing costs - Booking management platform with journey algorithms to optimise routes and costs - Innovations in the field of on-demand transport Interested suppliers should provide brief responses to the following questions by emailing chris.brewerton@lichfielddc.gov.uk by 14th June 2024. 1. Name, registered organisation address including contact name, number and email address 2. A brief summary of your offering and general experience of providing similar services to similar natured organisations, including details of ICT/Software, vehicle and staffing models 3. A brief outline of how you have implemented new services into similar natured organisations and any successes / lessons learned Please note the following- the questions are designed to provide details to the council of your current offering and future interest in providing software services to the Council. This shouldn't be onerous for your organisation; abbreviated and note form answers using bullet points will suffice. Lengthy answers are not required to these questions. Suppliers are not being judged on the length of answers or flowing prose, succinct answers are the preferred format. Please note, this approach to your organisation is not an invitation to tender or quote, or an offer to enter into a contract. The objective is to explore market innovation into future Lichfield District Council planning. Outcome information may be used to inform a future specification for the LDC. The Council reserve the right to request presentations and hold supplier meetings for the purpose of soft market testing.
