Summary of the contracting process

The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority is planning a tender for a NDA PhD bursary call 2024 in the services industry category. The call aims to maintain and develop key skills for UK nuclear decommissioning, encourage technology development, and foster knowledge transfer between academia and industry. Up to £750,000 will be available for projects leading to a PhD, with application details expected to be released in late July/early August. The contracting authority is located in Cumbria, UK, and can be reached at +44 1925802001 or procurement.inbox@nda.gov.uk.

The NDA PhD bursary call 2024 by the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority presents opportunities for UK academic institutions specialising in nuclear decommissioning to secure funding for research projects. Businesses with expertise in nuclear technologies, academic-industry collaborations, and early-stage technology development would be well-suited to compete for this tender. The planned procurement stage for the call is to support projects that will advance knowledge towards safe and sustainable solutions for decommissioning and clean-up of the UK's civil nuclear legacy.
