Summary of the contracting process

NHS North East London Integrated Care Board (ICB) is set to award a contract for the "NEL ICB Homeless Outreach Service" under a competitive process outlined by the Provider Selection Regime (PSR) 2023. This service aims to provide health and social work services across Barking, Dagenham, Havering, and Redbridge, focusing on early intervention and prevention for the homeless population. The procurement stage is in the award phase, with the official decision made on 23rd August 2024. The contract, valued at £2,000,000 annually, is scheduled to commence in October 2024 for an initial period of 3 years, with an option for a 2-year extension at the discretion of the Authority.

This tender creates substantial opportunities for business growth, particularly for organisations experienced in health and social care services. Companies with a track record in integrated care, early intervention, and services targeting vulnerable populations are well-suited to compete. The awarded contract encourages a multidisciplinary and collaborative approach, focusing on personalised care, innovative social prescribing, and reducing health inequalities. This project is particularly relevant for SMEs, as indicated by the participation of the awarded supplier, One Health Lewisham, which is an SME. Businesses that align with these criteria and can deliver comprehensive, effective care models could greatly benefit from this procurement opportunity.
