Notice Description
NHS Supply Chain seeks to establish a Framework for the supply of Surgical Instruments including Single Use Surgical Instruments, Reusable Surgical Instruments, Scalpel Blades, Scalpel Handles, Disposable Handles and Blade Removers, Repair and Maintenance of Surgical Instruments and Metal Instrument Recycling. It is anticipated that in the first 12 months of the Framework Agreement the value of purchases will be circa PS27,750,000 (approximate only). The figures for the total estimated value are based on initial expenditure and include a forecast for growth.

Single use surgical instruments and single use surgical instrument packs
This lot is for the supply of Single Use Surgical Instruments and Single Use Surgical Instrument Packs, including but not limited to the below product ranges; Scissors, Forceps, Speculums, Biopsy punch, Nail clippers/Nippers, Retractors, Needle holders, Towel clips, Dissectors, Mirrors, Probes, Extracting forceps, Elevators, Burnisher, Foot file, Foot dresser, Burrs, Podiatry pack, Dental pack, Foot dressing pack, Suture pack, Hooks, Dental instruments, Maternity pack, ENT Instruments, Gynaecology Instruments, Clamps, Applicators, Suction Tubes, Single Use Plastic Forceps. Additional information: Precise quantities are unknown. It is anticipated that initial expenditure will be in the region of PS11,000,000 to PS13,000,000 in the first year of this Framework Agreement, however this is approximate only and the values may vary depending on the requirements of those bodies purchasing under the Framework Agreement.
Reusable Surgical InstrumentsThis lot is for the supply of Reusable Surgical Instruments, including but not limited to the below product ranges; Scissors, Forceps, Speculum, Biopsy punch, Nail clippers/Nippers, Retractors, Needle holders, Towel clips, Dissectors, Mirrors, Probes, Extracting forceps, Elevators, Burnisher, Foot file, Foot dresser, Burrs, Intestinal clamps, Suction tubes, Hard edge & ultra cut scissors, Nail chisel, Gags, Tuning forks, Blacks file, Rasps, Raspatories & Saws, Chisels, Gouges and Osteotomes, Maxilla Instruments, Self-Retaining Retraction Systems, Tonsillectomy Instruments, Sterilisation/autoclave trays, baskets and containers, Skin hooks, Wire cutters and pliers, Hammer, Mallet, Rongeurs, Ring cutters, Mouth props, Skin grafting knives, Depressors, Curettes scoops and bone cutters, Clamps, Mayo safety pins, Bag clips, Dilators, Sounds & Bougies, Aneurysm needles, Myoma Screws, Bone Levers & Bone Instruments, Bone & Rib Shears, Elike Bulb & Glass, Rib Spreaders, Ligature Carriers, Spatula, Applicator, Pessary. Scalpel blades, Scalpel handles, Disposable Scalpels, and Blade removersThis lot is for the supply of Scalpel blades, Scalpel handles, Disposable Scalpels, and Blade removers. Repair and maintenance of Surgical InstrumentsThis lot is for the supply of repair and maintenance of Surgical Instruments. Additional information: Precise quantities are unknown. It is anticipated that initial expenditure will be in the region of PS2,000,000 to PS3,000,000 in the first year of this Framework Agreement, however this is approximate only and the values may vary depending on the requirements of those bodies purchasing under the Framework Agreement.
Metal Instrument recyclingThis lot is for the supply of Metal instruments recycling. Additional information: Precise quantities are unknown. It is anticipated that initial expenditure will be in the region of PS100,000 to PS500,000 in the first year of this Framework Agreement, however this is approximate only and the values may vary depending on the requirements of those bodies purchasing under the Framework Agreement.
Lot 1 - Single Use instruments & PacksLot 1 is for single use instruments including forceps, scissors, scalpel handles, needle holders and single use instrument packs intended for use in a wide range of medical and surgical applications that includes but shall not be limited to: -Ear, nose and throat/Sinus/Plastic surgery. -Cardiothoracic. -Dermal/Podiatry. -Obstetrics and gynaecology. -Dental. -Neurosurgery Additional information: Precise quantities are unknown. It is anticipated that initial expenditure in the first year of this Framework Agreement will be in the region of PS27,750,000 (all lots) and PS15,000,000 (Lot 1); however these values are approximate only and the values may vary depending on the requirements of those bodies purchasing under the Framework Agreement.
Options: The Framework Agreement will have an initial term of 24 months with an option to extend incrementally for up to a total period of 24 months.
Lot 2 - Reusable Surgical InstrumentsLot 2 is for reusable instruments which includes but shall not be limited to: -Intestinal clamps -Hard edge and ultra-cutting scissors -Nasal chisel -Gags -Tuning fork -Blacks file -Rasps and raspatories -Chisels, gouges and osteotomes -Maxilla instruments -Tonsillectomy instruments -Sterilisation/autoclave trays, baskets and containers -Skin hooks -Wire cutters -Hammer -Rongeurs -Ring cutters -Mouth props -Self-retaining retraction systems -Skin grafting knives -Depressors -Curettes scoops -Bone cutters -Clamps -Bag clips -Dilators -Sounds & bougies -Aneurysm needles -Myoma screws -Bone levers & bone instruments -Bone & rib shears -Rib spreaders -Spatula, applicator Additional information: Precise quantities are unknown. Lot 4 - Repair, Maintenance, Refurbishment of Reusable Surgical InstrumentsLot 4 is for the repair, refurbishment, and maintenance of surgical instruments. The scope of instruments that will require repair, refurbishment and maintenance is wide ranging and this includes (but shall not be limited to) reusable instruments (detailed in lot 2) intended for medical and surgical procedures including cutting, scratching, scraping, clamping, retracting, clipping or similar procedures. Additional information: Precise quantities are unknown. It is anticipated that initial expenditure in the first year of this Framework Agreement will be in the region of PS27,750,000 (all lots) and PS5,000,000 (Lot 4); however these values are approximate only and the values may vary depending on the requirements of those bodies purchasing under the Framework Agreement.

Lot 5 - Metal Instrument RecyclingLot 5 is for the recycling of metal surgical instruments encompassing the collection, transportation, segregation, treatment, disposal and trading of the resultant appropriately treated scrap metal waste. Additional information: Precise quantities are unknown. It is anticipated that initial expenditure in the first year of this Framework Agreement will be in the region of PS27,750,000 (all lots) and PS250,000 (Lot 5); however these values are approximate only and the values may vary depending on the requirements of those bodies purchasing under the Framework Agreement.
Options: The Framework Agreement will have an initial term of 24 months with an option to extend incrementally for up to a total period of 24 months.
