Summary of the contracting process

The NHS Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care Board is overseeing a procurement process for the "Planned Overnight Visit Service" in Ipswich, East and West Suffolk. This service, classified under health services (CPV 85100000), aims to provide palliative nursing care for end-of-life patients, facilitated by registered nurses and senior healthcare assistants. This contract, awarded to Marie Curie, is valued at £322,937, commencing from 1st April 2024 as a one-year grant agreement. The procurement follows a limited procedure due to technical reasons, specifically the necessity of preventing service discontinuation risks. The procurement stage is complete, and the award status is active.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses engaged in healthcare services to explore similar contracts, especially those providing end-of-life care. Companies with expertise in palliative care, particularly those capable of supporting night services and telephone advice, would find this contract relevant. The focus on technical discretion underscores the strategic selection of service providers where specific expertise or integration is critical, making it beneficial for well-established organisations with a track record in specialised healthcare delivery to consider such opportunities for expanding their service footprint.
