Summary of the contracting process

This procurement process was led by Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust for the provision of general waste collection services, classified under CPV code 90524400, involving collection, transport, and disposal of hospital waste. The process has reached the award stage where the contract was signed on 16th September 2025. Located in Brighton, within the UKJ2 region, the organization followed a selective procurement method under a restricted procedure. The awarded contract, valued at £163,805, is now active, with Veolia ES (UK) Limited confirmed as the supplier. The initial tender process was classified under services and covered various locations within the UK.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specializing in waste collection and disposal services, particularly focusing on handling and managing hospital waste. Companies with capabilities in compliant transport and disposal, along with a strong emphasis on sustainability and efficiency, would find this tender particularly suitable. With a focus on price as the awarding criterion, businesses offering competitive financial solutions while maintaining high service standards could thrive. Organizations, both SMEs and larger entities with operations across the UK, are well-positioned to compete and leverage this contract to expand their service portfolio in the healthcare sector.
