Summary of the contracting process

NHS Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG) Integrated Care Board is currently in the planning stage of a procurement process for the provision of Alternative Primary Medical Services (APMS) at various locations, which include Charlotte Keel Medical Practice in Bristol and Graham Road Surgery and Horizon Health Centre in Weston Super Mare. The event aims to inform potential suppliers about the upcoming tender and is scheduled for 13th August 2024. Key discussions will revolve around the scheduled expiration and re-procurement of APMS contracts in the Summer of 2025. The procurement falls under the services category, specifically general-practitioner services, with the relevant CPV code being 85121100. There are two lots available: Lot 1 in Bristol and Lot 2 in Weston Super Mare. All communications and registrations must be carried out through the Atamis system, directed to Gill Prior, Senior Procurement Manager at NHS South, Central and West Commissioning Support Unit.

This procurement process presents a significant growth opportunity for businesses specialising in primary medical services. Organisations with experience in delivering comprehensive medical services, particularly in diverse and urban settings, would be well-suited to compete for this tender. Participating in this pre-procurement Market Engagement exercise will allow bidders to understand better the commissioning intentions of the BNSSG ICB, including patient demographics and service requirements. Successful bidders will be responsible for a mobilisation period starting in December 2024, providing a strategic advantage for businesses ready to establish or expand their presence in the healthcare sector within the Bristol and Weston Super Mare regions.
