Summary of the contracting process

NHS Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care Board (SSOT ICB) is in the final stages of awarding a contract for the provision of a Tier 3 Community Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) Service. This procurement falls under the "services" category and is aimed at enhancing the patient pathway by managing patients within the community to reduce demand on primary and secondary care services. The service will be delivered across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent regions (UKG23 and UKG24). The contract, valued at approximately £1.5 million, is set to run from 20th August 2024 to 30th September 2025. The selection process adheres to the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023 and uses a direct award methodology without prior publication of a call for competition.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in healthcare services, particularly those with capabilities in ENT or audiologist services. With objectives that include providing rapid access to diagnostics, promoting self-care, and collaborating with secondary care colleagues, businesses that excel in these areas can find considerable growth prospects. Companies that can offer high-quality service delivery and demonstrate strong clinical governance are well-suited to compete for this contract. The existing provider, OMNES Healthcare Limited, has been identified as the preferred supplier due to their satisfactory performance on a preceding contract and their ability to meet the new contract requirements.
