Summary of the contracting process

The London Borough of Haringey ("the Council") is planning to re-issue a procurement opportunity for the provision of Domestic Abuse and Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) support services which was previously withdrawn due to material changes. This opportunity involves various specialised lots and is suitable for economic operators including SMEs and VCSEs. The procurement process, executed via an open procedure, is currently at the award stage but was not successful, with future tender opportunities to be expected. The contract is to support various community-based services, support for children and young people, refuge accommodation (including for ethnically minoritised and LGBTQ+ communities), and Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference coordination. The anticipated contract period is six years, starting July 1, 2025, with potential termination due to funding changes, demand shifts, or performance issues.

This tender presents significant opportunities for business growth, particularly for SMEs, VCSEs, and consortiums of providers. The different lots encompass services ranging from generalist domestic abuse support to specialised support for minority groups, providing versatile openings for businesses with expertise in health, social work, advocacy, housing, and education services. Businesses that offer comprehensive support services for domestic abuse victims, have robust performance management systems, and can operate within budget constraints set by the Council will be well-suited to compete for these lots. The engagement requirement for various community stakeholders also allows businesses to showcase their collaborative and community-oriented approaches, potentially leading to strong local business relations and sustainable service delivery models.
