Summary of the contracting process

Bath and North East Somerset Council is seeking to establish a contract for the provision of a Targeted Youth Support Service, aimed at young people aged 13-19 (up to 25 with SEND), residing in the UKK12 region. This service procurement, classified under "Social work services without accommodation" (CPV code 85312000), is currently at the tender stage and is being conducted through an open procedure. The contract aims to deliver quality support to young individuals at risk of poor outcomes related to NEET (not in education, employment, or training) status, as identified by various local and national strategies, including the B&NES Corporate Strategy 2023-27. The tender period ends on 13 January 2025, with the service contract set to commence in May 2025 and span over two years.

This tender represents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in social work services, particularly those with expertise in youth support and intervention. The procurement process, which includes a one-stage above threshold approach, allows for considerable involvement in enhancing the development and well-being of vulnerable youth, providing both targeted and one-to-one support. Businesses capable of offering robust systemic tracking, reporting, and career advice, along with those experienced in fulfilling statutory requirements for youth participation in education, employment, or training, will find this contract particularly suitable. By participating, companies can not only drive community impact but also expand their service portfolios and market presence within local authority-supported initiatives.
