Summary of the contracting process

NHS Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care Board (ICB) is undertaking a procurement process to award a contract for Assisted Conception services, including in vitro fertilisation (IVF), IVF with intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), and intrauterine insemination (IUI). The contract, with a value of approximately £4,200, will span from 21st October 2024 to 1st October 2025. This process falls under the Provider Selection Regime (PSR) and aims to maintain existing service capacity. The procurement method used is a direct award, and the decision-making committee, which saw no conflicts of interest, finalised the award on 3rd September 2024. The standstill period is set until 21st October 2024, during which representations can be made to the decision-makers.

This tender presents an excellent opportunity for businesses within the healthcare services industry, particularly those specialising in assisted conception services. Companies that have existing capabilities in providing high-quality IVF, ICSI, and IUI services and can continue to deliver such services without significant changes to their current operations stand to benefit from this contract. The procurement process underscores the need for continuity and quality in healthcare services, making it ideal for established providers with a proven track record in this niche area of medical intervention.
