Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) Asset Renewal
Notice Description
Translink wishes to procure a solution to carry out safety critical overhauls on the Main Traction Unit engine, bogies, and pneumatic systems on the Multi-Purpose Vehicle. The Windhoff Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) entered service in 2017. The double ended vehicle is designed primarily to apply sandite and use high pressure water jets on the rail to improve adhesion. However, the design is modular, allowing the swapping of equipment to undertake other work, including weed spraying. To allow the MPV to operate in a safe and efficient manner, aging components require replacing at scheduled intervals as per the manufacturer's recommendation. This will ensure maintenance costs are kept low, reliability and availability of the vehicle remains high, and the operational life of the vehicle will be met. To that end Translink wishes to undertake premarket engagement consultations with interested suppliers conducted via Microsoft Teams. We intend to invite interested suppliers to present to a range of Translink personnel and discuss asset renewal of the MPV what each can offer.. 3. This document is not a tender specification nor request for quotation. Translink is merely investigating market opportunities at this stage without entering into any contractual or financial commitments.. 4. Please note, progress in the project will be subject to the availability and timing of funding. If this requirement 5 / 8 EN Standard form 4 - Periodic indicative notice - utilities is given financial approval, it will be tendered under the Utilities Contracts Regulations 2016. Any documents, discussions, presentations, demonstrations, or clarifications submitted for this Market Research will not be considered as any part of the tender exercise. If Translink does decide to proceed with a competitive tender process, a separate detailed tender specification document will be produced as part of that process.. 5.
