Recycling and Recovery of CA Residual and Bulky Wastes from Council Household Recycling Centres
Notice Description
The requirement is for the recycling and recovery of residual and bulky waste from Household Recycling Centres within the Lisburn and Castlereagh Council Area.
Lot Information
Lot 1
The requirement is for the recycling and recovery of residual and bulky waste from Household Recycling Centres within the Lisburn and Castlereagh Council Area.
Procurement Information
The end of the previously tendered Council contract was to coincide with the commencement of a new arc2l contract for the processing and treatment of the Council's CA Residual & Bulky Wastes. However, due to unforeseen circumstances the arc21 contract has been delayed, the contract only recently being advertised with a current return date of 6 November 2024. The continuance of the Council's local contract with Irish Waste Services is to facility the transition to the arc21 contract upon its commencement and to ensure service continuity and no disruption to service in the interim. Not having a contract in place will lead to not only reputational damage but will have a negative impact on the Council's statutory obligations to divert waste from landfill and increase recycling as required by The Waste(Circular Economy) (Amendment) Regulations (NI) 2020.
