Summary of the contracting process

The Dover Harbour Board has announced a planned procurement for the "Provision of Vessel Traffic Services (VTS) software and support services." This initiative, categorized under Port management services (CPV: 98362000), is set in the United Kingdom, specifically in Dover (UKJ44 region). The procurement is in the planning stage with an anticipated start in early 2025. Components of this project include sourcing a replacement VTS IALA compliant software solution and updating the VTS hardware and operating systems, all in line with the NIS2 Directive requirements. Interested suppliers should note the pre-procurement engagement steps which will commence with a Request for Information in early 2025, with the final Request for Proposal to follow shortly thereafter. Key contact details for engagement have been provided via the Port of Dover's official tender email.

This procurement presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in vessel traffic control equipment and port management services. Companies with prior experience in implementing VTS software solutions and hardware upgrades are particularly well-suited to compete in this tender. The Port of Dover will supply the necessary hardware components, simplifying the process for the successful supplier. The integration of existing systems such as Radar, CCTV, AIS, and VHF will be a crucial part of the project. Companies that can demonstrate their expertise through past performance and engage in the pre-qualification questionnaire (PQQ) process will likely find this project an excellent avenue for business growth.
