This Contract is in relation to the Tier 2 weight management service for all Tower Hamlets residents who meet the eligibility criteria. This service will be expected to be accessible to all residents (provided they meet eligibility) including those with both mental and physical disabilities in which case reasonable adjustments as per requirements under the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 will be offered by Providers to facilitate and maintain access. The contracting authority's representatives will actively monitor this. This Contract is intended to be awarded to the existing Provider utilising direct award process C under the PSR2023 The approximate value of the Contract is PS125,000 per annum for an initial two year period with the option to extend for a further one year period

Any delivery intervention should be able to meet the local needs of Tower Hamlets population utilising existing understanding of delivering tier 2 adult weight management services as per NICE Guidance. 3. Any service should be able to meet the Department of Health's best practice guidance, with at least 60% of participants likely to complete and are likely to lead to an average weight loss of at least 3%, with at least 30% of participants losing at least 5% of their initial weight. 2 - Value - 1. Cost-effectiveness of the proposed intervention including comparison of costs to other similar programmes in London. 2 3 - Integration, collaboration and service sustainability - 1. Collaboration with local GPs, primary care networks and other statutory health and wellbeing services that are commissioned by the council. Providing accessible weight management services to targeted groups will contribute to achieving the outcome of Priority 5 (invest in public services) under the Council's Strategic Plan 2022-2026 to improving residents' health, wellbeing and quality of life. It is also aligned with the Tower Hamlets Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2021-2025, supporting people to live healthy lives and get support early if they need to it. 4 - Improving access, reducing health inequalities and facilitating choice - 1.
