Summary of the contracting process

The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority's subsidiary, Sellafield Ltd, is conducting a market engagement event for the procurement of Very Low Active (VLA) Analysis Services, scheduled for 9th January 2025. This event, which will be held via Microsoft Teams, is part of the planning stage for a tender process. Interested parties are required to register through the NDA's OneNDA eCommercial Systems powered by Atamis, specifically against Atamis Project C22676. The initiative is aimed at continuing support for Sellafield site's operational regulatory compliance, with the procurement's estimated value ranging from £56 million to £96 million. Sellafield Ltd’s primary location for this procurement is within the UKD1 region, focusing on the analysis services industry category.

This tender offers significant opportunities for service providers experienced in environmental, low active radiological, dosimetry, and chemical analyses. Businesses equipped to handle sample receipt, storage, analyses, reporting, and waste disposal will find this contract especially fitting, with the scope demanding robust capabilities over an 8 to 10-year duration. Participation in this market engagement could lead to substantial and sustained contractual engagements, given the essential nature of these services to Sellafield's long-term mission and regulatory commitments. Service providers with a strong track record in laboratory services and compliance with Best Available Technology (BAT) and As Low as Reasonably Practicable (ALARP) standards are encouraged to engage.
