Summary of the contracting process

The Police and Crime Commissioner for Devon and Cornwall, in partnership with NHS England Sexual Violence Pathfinder, is in the planning stage of a public procurement process for Sexual Violence Support Services. This initiative, with a value of £4,250,000, aims to offer comprehensive services across the Devon, Torbay, Plymouth, and Cornwall regions. Key dates in the procurement process include the initial engagement via a Prior Information Notice (PIN) on 14th January 2025, an invitation outlining event details by 17th January 2025, a Market Engagement Event on 21st January 2025, and subsequent 1-1 supplier discussions beginning on 22nd January 2025. The services will commence on 1st October 2025 and will be delivered virtually through Microsoft Teams.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in community, social, and personal services, particularly those experienced in trauma care and counselling. Companies offering assessment and formulation, trauma stabilisation, emotional and practical support, as well as trauma-focused therapies like CBT and EMDR, will find this an excellent growth opportunity. Businesses capable of handling complex trauma cases and providing flexible, relationship-building outreach and multi-agency coordination are especially well-suited to compete. Participation in the Market Engagement Event will help inform the service specification and allows providers to influence the procurement process and collaborate on creating an effective support system for individuals affected by sexual violence.
