Summary of the contracting process

The Highland Council has initiated a procurement process for the provision of Handyperson Service and Care and Repair Service, targeting regions such as Lochaber, Inverness, and others across the Highland area. This tender falls under the housing services category and seeks to provide support, such as minor household repairs and Telecare services for elderly and disabled individuals. The tender process is currently in the "Tender" stage, with submissions required by 16 April 2025. Contracts will commence on 1 June 2025, with an initial duration of 3 years, plus an option to extend for a further 2 years. The procurement method is open, allowing electronic submissions via the Public Contracts Scotland website.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses involved in service delivery related to housing support, Telecare, and Telehealth. Companies with experience in managing community stores, providing handyperson services, and handling Telecare equipment installations would be well-suited to compete. The requirement for electronic submission and the inclusion of community benefits adds appeal for those looking to contribute to community welfare. Businesses capable of high-quality delivery and collection services, as well as those with experience handling contracts of this nature, should consider bidding to expand their operations within the Highland area.
