Summary of the contracting process

The Business Services Organisation, Procurement and Logistics Service (PaLS), based in Belfast, Northern Ireland, is in the planning stage of a procurement process titled "Awareness Sessions for Total Bed Management." This process aims to secure contracts for hospital-bedding services, specifically Total Bed Management for the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust (BHSCT), South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust (SEHSCT), and Southern Health and Social Care Trust (SHSCT). The industry category is services, with a specific focus on beds for medical use. Awareness sessions will be held on 26th and 27th February 2025 at Knockbracken Hall, Belfast, and interested suppliers must register by 3rd February 2025. Future tender documentation is expected to be released on 1st April 2025.

This tender presents significant business growth opportunities for companies specialising in medical bed manufacturing and maintenance. Suppliers that can offer a range of hospital beds including standard, therapy, mental health, children's, cots, trauma, maternity, rehab, neuro, and ICU beds—along with their accessories—will be particularly well-suited to compete. Additionally, the procurement includes roles for on-site clinical advisors to ensure bed management and maintenance align with contractual requirements. Participating in the awareness sessions allows businesses to demonstrate their product capabilities directly to key decision-makers, providing an advantageous platform to shape their bids effectively.
