Summary of the contracting process

The NHS South Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (SY ICB) has awarded a contract for additional cohorts under its Targeted Lung Health Check initiative. This contract falls under the Provider Selection Regime, a process regulated by the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023, and does not adhere to the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. The contract, valued at £4,000,000, was signed on 24th July 2025, and its duration is from 1st April 2025 to 31st July 2028. Services will be provided in South Yorkshire, focusing on medical imaging services. The procurement method used was a limited procedure without a prior call for competition, ensuring the procurement suited the main criteria of service quality and value. The process recently moved to the contract award stage, where Alliance Medical Ltd was designated the service provider.

This tender presents substantial growth opportunities particularly for businesses specialising in healthcare delivery, medical imaging, and service provision in community health interventions. Companies with expertise in mobile health units and those capable of integrating and expanding existing healthcare services will find this tender particularly attractive. Alliance Medical Ltd's success in securing the contract highlights opportunities for organisations that can effectively collaborate with regional healthcare systems to address health inequalities through tailored service delivery models. The process encourages businesses focused on innovation, quality service delivery, and the optimisation of healthcare resources to engage in similar procurements.
