Summary of the contracting process

Liverpool City Council has concluded a procurement process for nursing care and clinical oversight services at Millvina and Brushwood Care Homes, with a contract awarded on 10 April 2025. The contract commenced on 2 June 2025, under the Healthcare Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023, and not the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. This open procedure had an initial 12-month duration with the option to extend up to six years, and the estimated total contract value is £8.4 million excluding VAT. The procurement falls under the "Residential nursing care services" category, covering the region UKD72 in the United Kingdom. The tender process being complete, the project is currently in the award stage.

This procurement offers significant opportunities for businesses involved in healthcare services, particularly those experienced in delivering nursing care and clinical oversight. With a focus on integration, quality, and innovation, suppliers such as CQC-registered small and medium enterprises (SMEs) with a strong track record in reducing health inequalities and enhancing service sustainability would find this a beneficial contract. For businesses aiming to expand their portfolio in healthcare solutions within the UK market, the awarded contract provides a valuable opportunity for growth, supporting local authority goals and enhancing their service offerings in residential nursing care.
