Summary of the contracting process

The Police and Crime Commissioner for Wiltshire is planning a procurement process for catering services at the Wiltshire Police Headquarters in Devizes, within the UKK15 region. This public tender process, with an estimated value of £350,000, aims to identify suppliers capable of providing high-quality catering services. The industry falls under the services category, specifically catering services (CPV code 55520000). Currently, in the planning stage, the procurement process will commence market engagement, with key stakeholders invited to participate in early discussions ahead of a formal tender expected to start in May 2025. Interested parties are encouraged to submit their responses to the pre-market engagement questionnaire by 7th March 2025. This early engagement aims to shape the tender specifications and identify optimal procurement routes.

This tender offers a significant opportunity for catering providers, particularly those experienced in managing café services and providing hospitality within a secure environment. With a diverse range of services required, from pre-made sandwiches and boxed salads to barista-style coffee and hot meal options, businesses with a focus on high-quality, locally sourced ingredients stand to benefit. Additionally, those proficient in working within subsidised frameworks and adapting to fluctuating staff numbers will find this tender to be a growth avenue. By engaging early in the process, suppliers can influence the tender specifications and establish themselves as strong candidates for the forthcoming competitive tender.
