Notice Description

To engage with heritage stakeholders to gather demonstrator projects from across the spectrum of historic buildings of traditional construction, which equate to roughly 30% of England's housing stock. To provide a comprehensive understanding of qualitative and quantitative data available to measure energy performance of these building types To demonstrate where and to what extent Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) are providing inadequate or incorrect information for building of these types To identify and demonstrate missed opportunities within the EPC system to reflect the energy efficiency potential of historic buildings of traditional construction most robustly and accurately. To provide evidence-based recommendations for improvement of EPCs to ensure they do not provide misinformation, in relation to the energy performance of historic buildings of traditional construction and the nature of necessary and suitable energy efficiency improvements.
