Summary of the contracting process

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust, in collaboration with Wessex NHS Procurement Limited, is planning to launch a tender to identify a joint venture partner for a purpose-built Private Patient Unit at Southampton General Hospital. The procurement process, classified in the outpatient care services category, is expected to start in mid-spring 2025, with key communications beginning on 1st August 2025. This planned stage offers a pipeline notice for businesses interested in growing private patient revenues through partnerships with NHS trusts. Interested parties must follow the market engagement process and note that this notice serves to understand market interest and potential commercial arrangements.
