Notice Title
Supported Living Care Services
Notice Description
Staffordshire County Council are recommissioning Supported Living care services, which is the provision of support to individuals with assessed eligible care and support needs living in Supported Living schemes. Supported Living schemes are housing and care services that support people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, autism, sensory impairments and/or mental health conditions to live independently in the community. Schemes can be shared houses, clusters of flats or may be single households (in specific circumstances) and an individual's accommodation in the scheme is known as a 'unit'. Individuals with an assessed eligible need for adult social care receive care services from a care provider who is independent of their landlord. If the care provider provides regulated care, they must be registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC). For the purpose of recommissioning Supported Living care services, the scope will include schemes with on-site care from a care provider either contracted by the Council or purchased by an individual using a direct payment issued by the Council; in the majority of circumstances individuals will have a tenancy agreement in respect of their accommodation. Schemes where individuals are receiving care services from directly employed staff, often called Personal Assistants, are not included.
