The reason for the urgent award was due to the ICB receiving a request from NHSE on the 07/11/2024 stating the urgent actions for all ICBs to take forward following the emergence of clade 1b mpox cases in the UK. A new service needed to be arranged urgently due to an unforeseen emergency which created safety concerns that posed a risk to patients and the public and therefore a rapid response was required. The ICB's CFO approved this urgent award on the 18th December 2024. No conflicts were declared.",
