Summary of the contracting process

The London Borough of Southwark, a sub-central government authority, is currently in the planning stage of procuring Community Equipment Services for the South East London (SEL) boroughs of Bromley, Greenwich, Lambeth, and Southwark. The procurement process involves initial market engagement, where the council seeks input from providers to inform future commissioning decisions. Key dates include the completion and submission of a questionnaire by 16 April 2025. The initiative aims to gather insights on equipment provision, logistics, and combined service models. This procurement scheme is under the legal framework of the Procurement Act 2023, ensuring compliance with regulations.

This tender represents a unique opportunity for businesses specialising in health and social work services. Organisations with expertise in equipment provision, logistics, or both areas can contribute to shaping the future service delivery model in SEL boroughs. Providers offering competitive pricing, innovative operational models, and robust contractual arrangements will find this engagement beneficial to establishing their presence in the region. Additionally, the chance to collaborate with neighbouring North Central London (NCL) boroughs could broaden the scope and impact of involvement, making it a lucrative prospect for both large and small businesses aiming to expand their market footprint. Key sectors well-suited for this tender include healthcare logistics, medical equipment supply, and integrated service providers.
