Summary of the contracting process

Durham County Council is inviting Ofsted Registered/Registering Providers of Children's Homes to a collaboration and engagement event. This event targets providers delivering or planning to deliver services in County Durham and the North-East region. The council aims to develop a new solution for purchasing Ofsted registered children's social care placements starting April 2026. The event will be held on Wednesday 21st May 2025 from 9:30am to 12:30pm at Neville Hall, Durham Leadership Centre in Spennymoor, Co. Durham, DL16 6YP. Interested parties should email childrenscommissioningofficers@durham.gov.uk by Friday 2nd May 2025 to register attendance, noting that venue capacity may limit representation to two persons per organisation.

This engagement offers significant growth opportunities for Ofsted Registered/Registering Providers of children's social care services, particularly those looking to establish or expand their presence in County Durham and the wider North-East England area. Providers specialising in health and social work services are encouraged to attend, as the council aims to forge strong collaborations and consult on future procurement frameworks. Businesses adept in these sectors can leverage these discussions to secure sustainable services and achieve optimal outcomes for young people, thereby enhancing their market position and operational footprint through potential framework agreements.
