Summary of the contracting process

The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office has recently awarded a contract for managing the operations of the British High Commission Employees Provident Trust Fund in Pakistan. This procurement process has reached the award stage, as of 28 January 2026, with the contract commencing on 16 February 2026. The open procurement method was employed, reflecting transparency and equal opportunity, with bids solicited via open procedure. The project location is primarily in Pakistan, focusing on pension fund consultancy services. The initial contract period is set for three years, with a provision to extend for an additional two years, contingent upon supplier performance and sustained business needs.

This tender offers significant growth opportunities for businesses specialising in pension fund consultancy and management, especially those with experience in handling funds for large organisations or government bodies. SMEs stand a chance to compete effectively, as evidenced by the participation of JS Investments Limited, a medium-sized enterprise, which successfully secured the contract. Companies with strong governance frameworks, expertise in statutory compliance, and efficient service delivery mechanisms are well-positioned to compete in such tenders. The structured open procurement process and the possibility of a contract extension serve as a lucrative prospect for sustainable business expansion.
