Syringes, Needles and Associated Products
Notice Description
This framework is for Syringes, Needles and Associated Products under which NHS Supply Chain is entitled to purchase supplies and/or services which it will make available for purchase by 1) any NHS Trust; 2) any other NHS entity; 3) any government department, agency or other statutory body and/or 4) any private sector entity active in the UK healthcare sector. Only NHS Supply Chain can order from the Framework Agreement and enter into contracts under it. The Framework is sub-divided into Lots: Lot 1 - Syringes, Needles and associated Products Lot 2 - Biopsy Needles and associated products It is anticipated that initial expenditure will be in the region of PS70,000,000 to PS75,000,000 in the first year of this Framework Agreement, however this is approximate only and the values may vary depending on the requirements of those bodies purchasing under the Framework Agreement. Estimated value over the 3 year Framework Agreement will be in the region of PS250,000,000. There will be an option to extend the Framework for a further year. If the extension period will be utilised, then the total value of the Framework across the 4 year would be PS340,000,000.
Lot Information
Syringes, Needles and Associated Products
Syringes, Needles and Associated Products including hypodermic needles, insulin pen needles, hypodermic syringes, tuberculin syringes, insulin syringes, prefilled 0.9% saline syringes, catheter tip syringes, combined needle and syringe products, spinal needles and kits (including NRFit), epidural needles and kits (including NRFit), nerve block/nerve stimulation needles (including NRFit), speciality needles, intraosseous needles and devices, blunt fill drawing up devices, oral drug syringes and syringe caps - all with or without safety devices where appropriate, bifurcated needles
Renewal: There will be an option to extend the Framework for a further year. If the extension period will be utilised, then the total value of the Framework across the 4 year would be PS340,000,000.
Biopsy Needles and associated productsBiopsy Needles and Associated Products including core biopsy needles including automatic, semi-automatic and manual, fine needle aspiration needles, bone marrow needles, coaxial introducer needles, bone biopsy needles and transperineal access devices to allow the user to perform transperineal prostate biopsies under local anaesthetic.

Planning Information
Engagement was conducted by issuing of a Prior Information Notice (PIN) under the previous PCR2015 https://www.find-tender.service.gov.uk/Notice/037500-2023 Interested parties were issued Request for Information (RFI) available for completion 20th December 2023 to 26th January 2024 - A Supplier Presentation to provide guidance on the tender for Syringes, Needles and Associated Products, and Sustainability & Social Value requirements were issued 4th March 2024. - A draft Specification & Product List was issued to applicants on 14th April 2024 for feedback with a deadline of 26th April 2024. - Supplier pre-market engagement meetings with incumbent and new suppliers between October and November 2023

"description": "This framework is for Syringes, Needles and Associated Products under which NHS Supply Chain is entitled to purchase supplies and/or services which it will make available for purchase by 1) any NHS Trust; 2) any other NHS entity; 3) any government department, agency or other statutory body and/or 4) any private sector entity active in the UK healthcare sector. Only NHS Supply Chain can order from the Framework Agreement and enter into contracts under it. The Framework is sub-divided into Lots: Lot 1 - Syringes, Needles and associated Products Lot 2 - Biopsy Needles and associated products It is anticipated that initial expenditure will be in the region of PS70,000,000 to PS75,000,000 in the first year of this Framework Agreement, however this is approximate only and the values may vary depending on the requirements of those bodies purchasing under the Framework Agreement. Estimated value over the 3 year Framework Agreement will be in the region of PS250,000,000. There will be an option to extend the Framework for a further year. If the extension period will be utilised, then the total value of the Framework across the 4 year would be PS340,000,000.",
