Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process for the "HGV Maintenance Services - Emergency Support Vehicles" has been completed with Transport for London acting as the buyer, alongside Transport Trading Limited as the procuring entity. This procurement falls under the public authority central government category, operating in the services sector within the United Kingdom's London region. The main objective was to find a supplier to provide maintenance for TTL's older emergency response vehicles fleet. The procurement method used was an open procedure. The procurement reached the award stage, with the contract becoming active on 2nd September 2025 and remaining effective until 2nd September 2027, with an option for a yearlong extension. The legal basis for this contract is aligned with the UKPGA 2023/54, following extensive evaluations and open tender procedures.

This contract presents substantial business growth opportunities, particularly for companies specialising in vehicle repair and maintenance services. With a contract value of £350,000 net, and £420,000 gross, this procurement supports businesses that can ensure compliance with stringent UK vehicle standards, particularly those capable of handling preventive maintenance inspections and extensive HGV repairs. Large-scale businesses such as VOLVO GROUP UK LIMITED, which has been appointed as the supplier, demonstrate that companies with considerable operational capacity and experience are well-suited to compete. However, the emphasis on technical capability, price evaluation, and social value also highlights opportunities for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) meeting these criteria to engage in future procurements of this nature.
