Summary of the contracting process

Rotherham Borough Council is currently in the planning stage of a procurement process for providing domestic furniture and appliances under their Furnished Home Scheme. This initiative primarily targets new council tenants facing financial constraints, offering essential household furnishings and appliances to support sustainable living conditions. The procurement focuses on goods within the furniture and domestic appliances sector (CPV codes 39100000 and 39700000) to be delivered within Rotherham, United Kingdom (region UKE31). The anticipated contract period is scheduled from 1st December 2025 to 30th November 2029. Potential suppliers are encouraged to note the planned future notice date on 1st September 2025.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for businesses specialising in furniture and domestic appliances to engage in a long-term framework agreement with a public authority. Given the project's aim to maintain adequate stock levels through regular weekly orders, companies capable of providing a reliable supply chain, diverse product offerings, and efficient delivery services are well-positioned to benefit. The comprehensive service required underscores opportunities for vendors keen on establishing partnerships within the public sector, particularly those with expertise in supporting government-led social initiatives that enable sustainable living solutions for low-income groups. Participation in preliminary market engagement exercises is encouraged for interested suppliers.
