The Care at the Chemist scheme allows patients to consult selected community pharmacies in St Helens rather than a GP for a defined list of minor ailments. The service aims to improve access and choice for people in St Helens with minor ailments by promoting self-care through the pharmacy, including provision of advice and, where appropriate, medicines and/or appliances without the need to visit the GP Practice

NHS Cheshire and Merseyside ICB awarded a one year contract via Direct Award A to selected St Helens pharmacies across Cheshire and Merseyside. The contract commenced on 1st April 2024 and expired on the 31st March 2025 with an indicative annual contract value of PS146880. The contract is an activity based contract.

This is a Provider Selection Regime (PSR) confirmation of contract award notice. This contract has been awarded under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023.
