Supported Accommodation Services Framework for Children in Care
Notice Description
BCP Council are commissioning Supported Accommodation Services for Children in Care aged 16 - 18 years, for whom the authority has a statutory responsibility for, in line with Ofsted requirements and regulations for the sector. Supported Accommodation Services enable children to prepare for independent living, utilising support (rather than care) to aid children to achieve positive outcomes. In accordance with the sufficiency duty placed upon local authorities, wherever it is safe and appropriate to do so, BCP Council intend to support children to remain living in theirlocal area; to maintain in contact with, and access to, their family and friends, education services, health and wellbeing services and local communities. The anticipated start date of the contract is April 2026. The contract will be 5 years with the option to extend for a further 3 years (5+2+1). Therefore, if all extensions were to be taken, the full length of the contract would be 8 years.

Planning Information
Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole Council (BCP Council) are hosting an online market engagement event on Wednesday 4th June at 11:00-13:00 to promote our commissioning intentions for a new Supported Accommodation Framework. This market engagement event is open to all providers who have an interest in the delivery of Registered Supported Accommodation Services. The event will offer providers with the opportunity to learn more about BCP Council's vision to provide the young people we look after across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole a safe and supportive place to call home, overview of BCP Council's latest data and find out about the procurement process. The tender opportunity is due to be published on Supplying the Southwest in July 2025. To register for the market engagement event, please send an email to art.contracts@bcpcouncil.gov.uk by Monday 2nd June 2025, midday with your First and Last Name and organisation name. Participation or non-participation in this market engagement event shall not prejudice organisations participating in any future procurement process nor is it intended that any information supplied shall place any organisation at an advantage in any forthcoming procurement process.
