Summary of the contracting process

National Highways Limited is in the planning stage of a procurement process titled "OCAMS093 ATMS Provider," concerning the provision of services for their Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS). The organisation, headquartered at Three Snowhill, Birmingham, aims to manage traffic across England's strategic road network. As part of the process, a Preliminary Market Engagement (PME) event will take place on 8th July 2026 in Birmingham, replacing the previously scheduled virtual engagement. This procurement falls under the services category, with an anticipated contract value of £50,000,000-£60,000,000. Interested parties must register by 1st July 2026 to participate in this session, which offers insights and discussion opportunities regarding the procurement approach.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in traffic monitoring and advanced management systems, as they would be ideally suited to compete. The engagement with National Highways, a key public authority in the central government, can provide long-term growth, especially for companies looking to establish or expand a foothold in the traffic services industry. Participation in the market engagement event allows businesses to influence forthcoming contract specifications and better understand potential collaboration on the ATMS project. Therefore, suppliers and contractors in the technology and traffic management sectors should consider registering interest to gain insights and establish their competitive advantage in the upcoming tender process.
