Summary of the contracting process

Orbit Group Limited has concluded its contracting process for managing repairs, maintenance, and empty homes across its housing stock in the Midlands, South, and East of England. The contracts are structured within a five-year initial term, with possibilities for extensions up to seven years. This process, completed using a selective procurement method via a competitive flexible procedure, invited expressions of interest by 19 November 2025. The procurement stage began with a market engagement process initiated in mid-2025, leading to various contract awards announced in June 2026. Notably, Topcoat Construction Limited and Ian Williams Limited were among those awarded separate lots. The completion of the procurement process underscores Orbit’s commitment to ensuring high-quality services across its properties.

This tender presents a substantial opportunity for businesses specializing in building installation work and maintenance services. SMEs stand to benefit significantly, given the contracts’ extensive regional coverage and long durations with high monetary value, ensuring ongoing work and potential for resource expansion. Prospective contractors who are proficient in large-scale repair and maintenance projects, especially those experienced in adhering to regulatory constraints such as safety and statutory compliance, are well-suited for participating and growing their business through these contracts. Successful businesses can expect to enhance their portfolio and credibility within the public sector housing market.
