Summary of the contracting process

Warwickshire County Council (WCC) has awarded a contract for residential care services for children and young people up to the age of 18. The contract aims to commission a children's residential care provider across three nominated local homes within Warwickshire, ensuring a 6-bed block arrangement. This procurement falls under the services category, specifically welfare services for children and young people, and uses an open procurement method with a competitive flexible procedure. The contract, valued at £8,550,000, is set to commence on 7th May 2026 and will run until 6th May 2029, with potential extensions up to 2033. Key dates include the standstill period ending on 26th February 2026.

This tender offers substantial business growth opportunities for organisations specialising in providing residential care services for children and young people. Particularly, it is well-suited for large-scale providers or organisations looking to expand their services within Warwickshire. Additionally, with the focus on shaping the local provider market and ensuring quality residential care, businesses that have experience in meeting regulatory standards like Ofsted and those that can demonstrate innovation and cost-efficiency will be positioned strongly to compete. Given the emphasis on maintaining community ties, organisations with a local presence or understanding of regional needs may particularly benefit from participating in this procurement process.
