Summary of the contracting process

The Defence Equipment and Support, a public authority within the central government, is planning a procurement process under the title "ITQ58 European Requirement in Support of Project Phoenix II." This tender is set within the services industry category, specifically focusing on the repair, maintenance, and leasing of motor vehicles across Europe. The procurement, managed by Babcock Land Defence Limited on behalf of the UK's Ministry of Defence, is currently in the planning stage. Key upcoming milestones include a preliminary market engagement session on 21st January 2026 at 2pm GMT, with a survey deadline set for 6th February 2026 at 5pm GMT. This session aims to provide interested suppliers with detailed requirements and a platform to present their capabilities. The contract, valued at €80 million, will span from December 2026 to December 2032, with potential extensions up to 2035.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in vehicle leasing and maintenance services, particularly those capable of managing large-scale, multi-national operations. Companies with expertise in providing a diverse range of standard and specialist vehicles, along with the required service, maintenance, repair, and inspection, would be well-positioned to compete. Engaging in this procurement process could foster business growth by securing long-term government contracts and expanding market reach across Europe. The procurement's emphasis on defence and security also suggests opportunities for entities familiar with handling specialised government contracts in these sectors.
