Summary of the contracting process

The London Borough of Camden is planning a procurement process titled "Adult Pathway Services," aimed at supporting vulnerable individuals at risk of homelessness. The procurement falls under the 'services' category, specifically focusing on health and social work services, and operates under a 'light touch' regime. The procurement is currently at the planning stage, with a notable upcoming date set for a future notice on 1st October 2025. The project is located in London, at the London Borough of Camden, Town Hall, Judd Street, and is classified under public authority sub-central government. The contract period is planned to commence on 1st April 2026 and conclude on 31st March 2031, with potential for renewal until 31st March 2032.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for businesses specialising in health and social work services, particularly those experienced in providing support to vulnerable populations with complex needs such as substance misuse and mental health issues. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are deemed suitable for this opportunity, opening doors for smaller businesses to engage with large-scale public service projects. Potential participants in this tender can contribute to significant societal benefits by reducing the reliance on more intensive public services, thus fostering community resilience and supporting individual pathways to independence through tailored services and opportunities.

Notice Title

Adult Pathway Services

Notice Description

* This notice is a PIPELINE NOTICE and therefore is NOT currently a call for competition. For the avoidance of doubt, the Pipeline Notice is intended to provide the most accurate forecast currently available for the council's high value procurement activity, but does not commit the council to procuring any contract and may be amended after publication. No further information other than that captured in this notice can be provided at this time. * The council intends to recommission four of its current pathway services to help vulnerable single people who would otherwise be homeless, thereby reducing the need for statutory Temporary Accommodation and for more reactive, intensive public services such as A&E, Police or adult social care services. The services provide accommodation for some of the most vulnerable people in the community together with support that is tailored to meet individual, increasingly complex needs, often associated with substance misuse and mental health problems. Residents are helped to progress towards independence by engaging with the services relevant to their needs and taking up opportunities for employment, training and education.
