Summary of the contracting process

The Welsh Government, serving as the buying organisation, is advancing the Public Sector Broadband Aggregation (PSBA) 3 project, falling under the IT services industry category. This project, situated in Wales, UK, is currently in the planning stage. With an estimated annual value of £50 million, this high-profile contract will affect numerous public sector sites, including GP surgeries and schools, across Wales. Key procurement dates are set, with its significant milestone, the Supplier Engagement Day, initially slated for November 27, 2025, now postponed to early 2026. Interested suppliers should note that webinars and workshops will be held up until December 1, 2025. This procurement process aims to ensure the provision of resilient and robust connectivity services through a dynamic and efficient management strategy.

The PSBA 3 tender represents a substantial opportunity for businesses specialising in IT services, including consulting, software development, and support. With a total contract value estimated at £840 million, companies providing these services have a significant opportunity to contribute to public sector efficiency in Wales. Best suited for this tender are businesses capable of delivering flexible WAN services, secure roaming solutions, and robust cybersecurity measures. This project will also appeal to firms offering cloud connectivity and strategic consultancy, as it supports ongoing technology evolution within public sector organisations, ultimately augmenting business growth and market presence in the IT sector. Companies can further engage and demonstrate innovative solutions during the rescheduled Supplier Engagement Day.
