Intravenous Cannula and Associated Products
Notice Description
Peripheral Intravenous Cannulas and related products are short-term devices used to access veins for fluid or medication delivery and blood sampling. They come in various forms including safety and non-safety, winged, ported, and straight. These devices are not intended for central vein access. Also included in the scope of the procurement are: * Subcutaneous infusion sets * Metal needle winged devices with extension * Safety Integrated Cannula (also referred to as closed loop systems) * Safety Canulation Packs * Accessories designed to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of patient cannulation. Including training aids. It is anticipated that initial expenditure will be in the region of PS35,000,000 (ex VAT) in the first year of this Framework Agreement, however this is approximate only and the values may vary depending on the requirements of those bodies purchasing under the Framework Agreement. Estimated value over the 2-year Framework Agreement will be in the region of PS70,000,000 (Ex VAT). There will be an option to extend the Framework for a further 2 years. If the extension period will be utilised, then the total value of the Framework across the 4 year would be approximately PS140,000,000 (Ex VAT) Preliminary market engagement was carried out, with a PME Notice being published 30 July 2025.

On receipt of an expression of interest, the Authority will issue the Supplier with a Request for Information (RFI) document, and at a later stage of pre-market engagement, the draft Specification and Product list. IMPORTANT NOTE: The RFI document and any further communication in regards of this PME activity only, will be issued via email from email address PIV.Cannula@supplychain.nhs.uk Key dates: • Deadline for submission of completed RFI - 16:00hrs BST on 10 September 2025. • Deadline for draft Specification and Product list feedback - 16:00 GMT 3 November 2025 • Final feedback for Specification and Product list (if revised and circulated a second time) - 16:00 GMT, 1 December 2025 • Supplier webinar: early December 2025 (registration details to follow via email) Suppliers wishing to request individual meetings with the Authority to discuss the proposed procurement are invited to do so via email (PIV.Cannula@supplychain.nhs.uk). Meetings must be requested and concluded before 16.00hrs GMT on 30th November 2025.
