Summary of the contracting process

This procurement process was conducted by the Birmingham & Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust, focusing on delivering health services titled "Your Story, Your Power - Healing through narrative". The aim was a year-long initiative within community health services, classified under CPV code 85323000, based in Birmingham (region UKG31), United Kingdom. The process reached the 'award' stage, with the contract actively signed on 1 May 2025. Undertaken as part of a national pilot with time-bound funding, the programme involves creative arts for wellbeing and was crucially awarded under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023, without a call for competition due to the urgent circumstances and limited procurement method. The contract was awarded to Mimar Collective CIC with a budget of £49,939.55.

This tender presents opportunities for SMEs, particularly those within the creative arts and community health sectors, to grow and engage in meaningful partnerships. Businesses equipped in providing artistic services focussed on community and wellbeing initiatives will find this project appealing, especially those experienced with culturally tailored, co-produced work aiming to address health inequalities. The procurement method indicates a preference for unique artistic works, positioning entities with a strong creative direction and community focus for potential future collaborations once pilot outcomes are assessed.
