The procurement, led by NHS South Central and West Commissioning Support Unit, has been conducted using an open competition method within a "below threshold" regime. ICAREIMOVE LIMITED has been selected as the supplier, and the contract commenced on 16th January 2026, set to run initially for three years with potential extensions of up to two additional years. The annual budget for the project stands at £73,296 inclusive of VAT, and the total potential contract value is £366,480 if fully extended over five years. The project's legal framework aligns with the Public Health Act, offering a community-based program designed to deliver early intervention for COPD patients.

This tender presents valuable opportunities for businesses, particularly those specialising in health and social care services, to expand into or consolidate their presence within the public healthcare sector in the UK. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs), as well as organisations focused on social value delivery, would find this opportunity particularly advantageous. Given the project’s emphasis on community engagement and co-produced activities, businesses with expertise in patient education and engagement, community health initiatives, and those possessing robust project management capabilities would be well-positioned to meet the tender’s requirements. Furthermore, the procurement process encourages innovation in service delivery and seeks providers committed to enhancing patient outcomes through collaborative efforts with various stakeholders in the healthcare continuum.
