Summary of the contracting process

The NHS Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire Integrated Care Board (BSW ICB), based in Chippenham, is in the process of awarding a contract for a Supported Accommodation Service in Swindon under the Health Care Services Provider Selection Regime Regulations 2023. This procurement process is in the tender stage, following a Most Suitable Provider approach, and involves a 10-bed facility that offers non-nursing based support with a recovery-oriented environment. Initial plans have the contract commencing from 1st July 2025 and ending on 31st March 2026, with a lifetime contract value of £267,321. The facility, serving individuals aged 18 and over, requires a new operational site as the current lease is non-transferable, and it must be CQC registered. Key dates include the contract award on 9th July 2025 and representations deadline by 22nd July 2025 under the standstill period regulations.

This tender presents substantial business growth opportunities for organisations in the health services sector with a focus on supported accommodation and mental health services. Companies capable of providing a high-quality, person-centred caregiving environment, especially those experienced in collaboration with local authorities and secondary mental health services, would be well-positioned to fulfil the contract requirements. Additionally, businesses proposing viable solutions for the new facility premises within Swindon and offering innovative recovery-based care approaches could find strategic opportunities in this tender process. It is suitable for large-scale enterprises already established in the health field or those seeking to expand their footprint by securing contracts with a reputable NHS Integrated Care Board.
