Summary of the contracting process

Gloucestershire County Council is currently in the planning stage of a public procurement process titled "Climate Youth Engagement," focusing on services in the industry category of youth education and environmental training within the UK region of Gloucestershire (UKK13). The procurement process is aimed at engaging young people in climate action initiatives. Key dates include a preliminary market engagement event scheduled for Thursday, 7th August 2025, at 2 pm, with an alternative supplier survey deadline of 15th August 2025, noon. The council plans to award a contract that will run from 2026 to 2028, with an option to extend for an additional year.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for businesses involved in youth education services, environmental training, and community engagement. Ideal participants are organisations, particularly SMEs and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs), with expertise in creating and delivering impactful programmes for young people. Businesses capable of fostering behavioural change, facilitating climate action within communities, and supporting youth-driven initiatives are well-suited to compete for this opportunity, which envisages innovative and measurable solutions for engaging Gloucestershire’s young population in climate-related activities.
